Bedroom & Bedding [at Home]

Oh my bed, my bed. Where art thou, my bed? I love you, my bed. My bed and I, we’re practically married. We spend a lot of our lives together. From sundown to sun up, we’re always there for each other. She’s so soft and warm. So cozy and comfy. Her pillows are plush. Her mattress is supportive. She has everything I need. For a good night’s rest, that is. And that is important after all, a good night’s rest. I always seem to be a little more cranky when I’m tired. My patience seems to be a little shorter. When I’m tired, I feel like my get up and go got up and left.

I don’t always get a headache, but when I do, it’s usually because I didn’t sleep enough. Or I didn’t sleep well. Or I stayed up later than usual. Yes, it’s normal to wake up a few times a night. The restroom is always in sight. But it’s even better to sleep the night through. We always feel better when well rested it’s true.

My bed and I have a special relationship. There’s something about getting under her covers, the way she smells. She smells like me. Like a good night’s rest. Like I’m going to have sweet dreams. Her covers are cozy. Her comforter is comforting. Her sheets are soothing. You know what I’m talking about, that cool-to-the-touch feeling right as you lie down. Ahh, the feeling of letting the weight of your body rest against the bed. Letting the tension of the day fade away. They say your body actually falls asleep faster if it’s slightly cooler before sleep. That you sleep deeper as well.

Bedroom

You know, I’ve always kept so many things in my bedroom growing up. So many things, it sort of changed to just “my room.” I guess that’s how it is when we’re younger. All our worldy possessions fit in just that room as a child. But now, the bedroom seems to be exactly that. The room with the bed. My bed. Oh, how my bed is a wonderful place to be. It means I’ll be at peace, going to my bed’s sweet embrace. Nowadays, everything else seems to have its own place.

Unless it’s bed-related, not too many things follow me in there. Just everything for sleep, rest and self-care. My pajamas and maybe a few clothes. Just what I need before my eyes close. And the phone comes too, I suppose. For when the alarm sounds, it’s time to get up and go.

Bedding

Bedding. It almost sounds like wedding. I’m sorry, I am a little obsessed with my bed. She’s just so lovely. Did you know I picked out all her clothes? I mean, sheets and covers myself? I like to dress her up according to my taste. And when she smells a little too much like me, I know it’s time to undress her and wash her face.

This is getting a little weird? Well, it is sort of an intimate place. What did I mean by clothes? Well, she wears fabric that covers her body just like we do. And she has feelings too, you know? What are you talking about? Of course she does. That’s why it’s good to be nice to your bed. And make sure she always has clean covers. It’s important to take care of your bed. Your bed is always there for you. At the end of a long, hard day. Especially on your worst days, when you’re down in the dumps. She’s there to hold you and comfort you. Just like a true love or friend. If you have those kinds of friends. Those kinds of friends are wonderful.
